We are back to winning ways after a convincing victory over Cheadle Town last night. With this win, we continue to put pressure on the playoff places, with the business end of the season approaching.

Two goals from Lewis Byrne, along with another strike from Daniel McLaughlin got the job done for Chaddy, aided by a man of the match performance by Eddy Goddard at the back.

It was almost perfection from the very first whistle, Lewis Byrne stealing the ball off the feet of the Cheadle defender before playing the ball to Benito Lowe whose shot was saved by the opposition’s goalkeeper. Big chances continued to come for us, but the ball refused to find it’s way into the net, our attackers were being denied by the goalkeeper and the woodwork, we could have been a few goals up by the time the deadlock was broken.

Finally, Tyler Berry sets up Lewis Byrne following a charge down the right side, and this time Lewis has no problem converting the chance. He slots it past the Cheadle goalkeeper with elegance, and we took a one goal lead into the half time interval.

We immediately fell back into the swing of things in the second half, a goal from Dan McLaughlin, doubled our lead. Eye catching build up play concluding with Barlow feeding the ball across the box for McLaughlin to convert.

It was a ruthless second half performance, more chances falling to the likes of Tyler Berry and Benito Lowe throughout the half, but it would be our top goalscorer, Lewis Byrne who would convert once again to ensure three points would come our way. It was once again good work from Tyler Berry who would dispossess the Cheadle player on the halfway line, playing it to Benito Lowe who forwards the ball onto Lewis who makes it forty goals for himself this season.

This concluded a ruthless yet professional performance as we claim our first home victory of the new year. However, there will be limited time to celebrate as attention swiftly alters to Saturday’s clash with Pilkington.
