We remain in glistening form having won our last five matches in all competitions. We aim to continue this form into Saturday as we kick off our festive fixture run-in against Glossop North End.
Last time out, it was a 3-1 away win in Cheadle that saw us through to the next round of the Manchester Premier Cup. Lewis Byrne once again finding himself on the scoresheet twice alongside Matty Crothers, who told us “To be honest, their gaffer thought he was playing football manager”.
In the league, we continue to sit in 2nd position in the NWCFL Premier Division, but we continue to close the gap on top of the league Ramsbottom United, currently we are only four points behind.
It has also been a busy week off the pitch, the draw for the third round of the Macron Cup took place, confirming a home tie against Euxton Villa on Saturday 14th December.
Our opponents, Glossop North End currently sit 18th in the league, losing their last fixture on penalties against Belper Town on Tuesday night in the Derbyshire Senior Cup.
However, last time we faced North End, they made it a very difficult evening for us, we managed to see out a 3-2 victory, but they proved to be a very tricky opponent, and we expect a similar game on Saturday.
We aim to continue our good form as we have a big week ahead, playing three games within the space of seven days.
