MATCH PREVIEW: Chaddy look ahead to St Helens trip

Written by Jacob Jones

We do not have any time to dwell on the weekend’s disappointing 2-1 home loss to FC Isle of Man as our attention shifts to tomorrow’s away fixture against FC St Helens.

Adam Dale, who was our only goal scorer last time out, told us “The best thing about football is there’s always another game around the corner. We have to bounce back against St Helens, not just with a result but with a performance.”

We currently sit second in the NWCFL Premier Division, we are five points behind top of the league, Ramsbottom United, however we have a game in hand over the current league leaders.

Tomorrows fixture is the first of two games in the space of 72 hours for us as we will the make the short journey to face Stockport Town FC on Monday.

Tomorrow’s hosts, FC St Helens come into this fixture off the back of a 1-0 loss against Irlam last weekend.

A win would take FC St Helens up to sixth place in the NWCFL Premier Division so it will certainly be an interesting game as both sides attempt to get back to winning ways.

We also spoke to Joint-Manager Carl Taylor who had the following to say about the game:

“Tonight’s game against a very good FC St Helens team is the sort of game we need after a performance last week that we are not accustomed to at Chadderton. This will be a very tough game against a good side who have started very well to life in the Premier Division, but we must bounce straight back after last weeks defeat. We must go on another run if we are to keep pace with teams at the top of the division and winning games against teams around you is crucial to being successful in this league. The lads will be ready, we’ve also added a new signing in Rob Worrall from Trafford who will go straight into the squad for the game tonight”
