We were very disappointed to exit the FA Vase last weekend after a 2-0 loss away at South Liverpool. However, we hope our wait for revenge will not be a long one as we return to Jericho Lane this weekend.
Despite a poor run of form, we are still 3rd in the NWCFL Premier Division, and the chase for that top place is far from over.
Our opponents, South Liverpool, sit 21st in the league currently, however they showed last weekend that they are an incredibly tough outfit to come up against. Although, the hosts have won two of their last three home meetings, making Jericho Lane a very tough place to visit.
We spoke to First Team Coach Jamie Clarke who had the following to say:
"We go into the game on the back of four defeats, which is unheard of for this team. We know however, there is context for this run of form and the group knows the key thing right now is calmness and a focus on our strengths.
We’ve now approached the midpoint in our league campaign and I’m sure we would all have taken our current position before the season. We’re determined to get that next win and will be approaching another difficult fixture on Saturday, looking to kick on and put another run of good form together as we push into the second half of the campaign."
We are yet to face South Liverpool in the league this season so far, so we will be hoping to get off the mark against them with a victory on Saturday.
