MATCH PREVIEW: Chaddy prepare for Semi-Final clash

The big game feeling is in the air as we prepare for the semi final of the Manchester Premier Cup. Our opponents are Irlam, who defeated Glossop North End 3-0 to get themselves a place in the semi-finals.

As for ourselves, we had to endure a gruelling test against West Didsbury & Chorlton, where Dale Latham was our hero in a 4-3 penalty shootout win where we had to show a lot of character after being brought back level at the end of full time despite establishing a 2-0 lead early in the game.

As for current form, there was a lot of positives to take away from our last performance at home to in-form Padiham. We came away with a 1-1 draw, but we certainly had chances to win the game and were subject to a very controversial refereeing decision denying us a penalty and s chance to take home all three points.

January itself was an interesting month for us, we saw departures, we saw arrivals such as Harry Lynn, Brad Ditch and the return of Dale Latham. On the pitch we saw mixed results, impressive wins against St Helens and a cup victory over West Didsbury & Chorlton were accompanied by disappointing defeats to Charnock Richard and Padiham.

Our opponents, Irlam are fighting the same battle as us in the league, currently sat 7^th in the NWCFL Premier Division, only outside of the playoff places on goal difference. They have been in good form as of late, only Bury and Lower Breck have picked up more points in the last six games.

Neither us or Irlam have ever had the privilege of lifting the Manchester Premier Cup, so we are confident both teams will come into tonight’s game with exceptional levels of hunger and desire which should make for a fascinating encounter.
